Hamilton supports a wide range of wildlife, much of which has been recorded by local residents over the years. These records help build a shared picture of the species living in and around the area
Explore Hamilton’s wildlife!
Since 1990, residents have recorded the species found across the area shown on the map—from Barkby Thorpe in the north to Netherhall Road in the south, and from Hamilton Lane in the east to Thurmaston Lane and Waterside Road in the west.
The lists will be updated regularly as new species are discovered and recorded.
How these lists will be used
Once compiled, records are checked using descriptions, photos, or sound recordings before being submitted to NatureSpot for verification.
