Arrangements for Community Use

1. Description of Community Room :

Large Community Hall with carpet and hard surface areas, 8 rectangular tables plus 6 others that form circle arrangement. Has own toilets (ladies, gents and disabled), small kitchen area with sink and microwave oven. Use of oven and kettle by arrangement with the Adult Learning department

2. Room Capacity:

Maximum capacity of 70 people (as set by fire regulations), this includes facilitators, performers etc).

3. Hire Charges:

· Outside of library opening hours as this requires City Council staff to service the building

£33.00 per hour before 18.30

£39.00 per hour after 18:30

There will be an additional 1 hour charge to cover half an hour before and half an hour after the booking to allow for unlocking and locking the building.

· During library opening times no charge for community related activities.

4. City Council Terms and Conditions of Hire:

· Bookings can be 2 days in advance but 4 weeks notice is preferred. No block bookings, all bookings are one-offs.

· Room available on Fridays and Saturdays only between 09.00 am and 22:00.

· At the moment no bookings for children’s parties (this is because there are quite a few cupboards and filing cabinets that could be a Health and Safety risk).

· No kitchen facilities.

· No alcohol allowed on the premises.

· No electrical equipment may be plugged into any of the sockets.

5. Current Room Commitments :

At the moment the room is used as follows:

Some Tuesdays 12:00 – 15:00; last Tuesday of the month Residents Coffee Morning 10:30 to 12:00

Wednesdays 10.00 –13.30

Thursdays 18:00 to 19:30 for Adult learning courses

Fridays 09.00 – 12.00 Sure Start Stay and Play session
